Cast and Sintered Alnico Magnets
Alnico is an alloy composed of Iron (Fe), Aluminum (Al), Nickel (Ni), Cobalt (Co), and other elements present in small percentages.
Alnico magnets can be manufactured either by casting, using medium-frequency furnaces and hot-bonded sand molds, or through a sintering process.
Alnico magnets offer high remanence (Br) and high energy product values, combined with a low temperature coefficient. These characteristics make them particularly suitable for applications in measuring instruments, high-precision and high-performance equipment, and in environments where temperature stability is a critical factor.

Magnetic Properties of Alnico Magnets
The final magnetic properties of Alnico magnets are achieved through specific heat treatments, combined, in the case of anisotropic grades, with the application of strong magnetic fields.
These magnetic fields orient the magnetic phase along the direction of the field lines, enhancing the magnetic properties in that specific direction, which must correspond to the final magnetization direction.
Magnets in which magnetization is possible only along specific directions are referred to as anisotropic or oriented magnets.
