Bonded Neodymium Iron Boron Magnets

Magnets produced by combining plastic binder matrices with Neodymium Iron Boron magnetic powder combine the high performance of rare earth magnets with the versatility and processing advantages of polymer-based materials.
The processes developed to produce NdFeB powders suitable for mixing and molding with plastic binders were introduced alongside the development of sintered NdFeB magnets.

NEOPLASTIC Bonded Magnet Production

The processes used to produce NdFeB powder for mixing and molding with plastic binders were developed alongside sintered NdFeB magnets, but have only become increasingly widespread in recent years.
This growth is due to the wide variety of shapes and geometries that can be achieved through injection molding or compression molding processes, together with the significant advantage of minimizing component assembly operations by using finished parts (such as rings or other complex systems) magnetized according to the optimal configuration.

Components can be molded with high precision, reducing the tolerances of the final device. This allows for significant miniaturization while maintaining high material performance and dimensional accuracy of the finished part.
The overmolding capability offered by this type of bonded magnet eliminates additional manufacturing steps and further improves the accuracy of final assembly.
For these reasons, bonded magnets represent an important solution for applications such as electric motors, actuators, linear motors, Hall sensor systems, reed switches, magnetic couplings, and many other applications.
